Hey Everyone, Joe here with the latest news regarding our track and trails in Mammoth, Mono, and Inyo County. Mammoth to June Lake (West & Eastside) trails are experiencing closures using Sage and timber thrown all over to hide the once 52 inch trail. They call it restoration. I call it a mess, and a liability to the groups who are contracted and have a M.O.U to do this kind of work. Be careful when riding on your regular routes. The Kiask boards have a blown up version of the C.T.U.C map and the area you are in at that time. Pick up a free C.T.U.C map at the Mammoth visitor center off 203 across from RV park and the McDonalds. You have to ask for the C.T.U.C O.H.V map.

Mammmoth MX track news:
Had a State O.H.V meeting today in Bishop Ca. This meeting had the key players at the table. Ed Waldheim stepped up to the plate and asked a direct question, How can we get the track back for more public use? Well everyone, the track is an item on Ed Armenta list. Ed is our new U.S.F.S supervisor for the Inyo Forest. Ed is really down to earth and very professional during puplic meetings. He understands how important O.H.V user groups are a big revenue benifit to small rural and mountain communities. I will be setting up a meeting with all the key players to get this ball rolling. Goal is to have the track operating by 2012.

I also put in a request for a motorcycle only trail off sawmill (A) road out of shady rest. This trail runs along the right side of the rocky road. The trail is already cut in the side of the mountain. Small amount of maintence and clearing a few rocks would open it in no time.

Randy from Golden State Cycle in Bishop Ca. is making progress with all his projects for Inyo County. Riatta's track in Bishop is making good progress for the Bishop moto park. His O.H.V adventure trail plan is at the table before the senate in Washington DC for a vote. This will be big for Bishop and Mammoth if it passes. Now is the time to Visit Mammoth with all your O.H.V toys. Our weather is prime for all off road recreation.

IT'S O.H.V SEASON IN MAMMOTH,JUNE LAKE AND BISHOP. OUR WEATHER IN THE EASTERN SIERRAS CAN'T BE BEAT. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING RAIN OFF AND ON FOR THE PAST WEEK. IT SNOWED ON THE TRAILS SUNDAY 9/11. THE DIRT IS MOIST AND LOW TO NO DUST. NO CROWEDS ON THE TRAILS SINCE SCHOOLS STARTED.
